Wireless Communication -- " Ham Radio "

Ham radio operator is an amateur radio operator who by sheer virtue of his interest and fascination towards wireless communication tries to establish radio contacts around the world. The unique mix of fun, public service and communication is the main characteristic of Amateur Radio. All hams have a common basic knowledge of radio technology and operating principles. In the US, hams have to pass an examination for the FCC license to operate on radio frequencies known as the "Amateur Bands." There have been many debates as to why an amateur radio operator is called a ham. Some say HAM relates to three great radio experimenters namely Hertz, Armstrong and Marconi. Who can be a typical ham? A typical ham can come from any walks of life be it movie stars, doctors, students, politicians, missionaries or just a common man on the street.
