How does my body work!!!

Today I would like to share the most important concept which I felt everyone should know. Its about how our body works. After reading the benefits of natural foods, many of you might be wondering, "if a simple vegetable/fruit can prevent many diseases then why am I taking medications for my illness?! How does these medicines differ from natural remedy?" To get the answer, we must first know how our body works and what is actually happening when we take a chemical drug or a natural food/herb. I want to make the explanation as simple as possible. I am not going to include any biological terms as I want everyone to understand better.
First of all, why should you know how your body works? Does it really matter?? YES! It matters a lot. Lets say you have a motorcycle. If you know everything about your vehicle, you wont look for an automobile shop and you will have the courage to fix it on your own.
Similarly, since we don't know much about our body, we rely on doctors even for a simple fever or a deadly cancer. P.S. Cancer is not deadly as long as the doctors don't threaten the patient. Fear kills the patient, not Cancer. When we understand our body better, we don't need a doctor. We can treat ourselves. After reading this article, I am sure you will come to know your inner doctor's intelligence and start trusting it.
Lets get started...
Our body is made up of trillions of cells. Each cell has its own job. It forms a group to do tasks like building muscles, produce blood, sending signals etc,. This process has been there ever since human beings started to exist on this earth. Our body, in its intelligent state, always tries to follow the laws of nature. For example, we feel energetic during day time and sleepy at night. It follows the circadian rhythm.
We all know that each and every cell in our body carries the gene from our parents which holds the information about the health & character of our grand parents, great grand parents and so on. Like say, whether they had any allergies, hypertension or auto-immune diseases etc, it is stored in this memory. By default these memory remain inactive in our body. Our diet, lifestyle and thoughts activate this memory and that is when we get some hereditary disease. It is NOT that everyone whose parent or grandparent had diabetes, will definitely get diabetes. But doctors easily blame heredity as the cause for several diseases. When they don't know the exact cause, they blame our gene. An obese mom can have a normal weight healthy child if she provides a good diet & lifestyle to the child.
As I mentioned earlier, our body can easily understand nature and tries to go with it. Unfortunately, we forgot that our body has its own intelligence (Immune system) and started to treat it as a machine and trying to fix it part-by-part using chemicals. We missed the holistic approach.
What happens when we take chemical medicines or use chemical cosmetics or hair oil or any synthetic stuff internally or externally?
  1. Our immune system thinks that some toxin (foreign particle) has entered into the body (chemicals are considered "foreign" to our body). (Do we allow strangers into our house? Definitely not )
  2. It tries to throw it out. This automatic detox process is experienced by us through some symptoms like cold, diarrhea, vomit, sneeze, headache, rashes etc.
  3. First few times, the immune system succeeds and saves us.
  4. If we keep on adding chemicals, in any form, to our body, it works hard to detox using its full energy. In this situation, it gets busy in detoxing most of the time and gets less time to grow us.
  5. Eventually our immune system gets tired and starts to give up. This is when our symptoms worsen and we rush to the doctor. The doctor, after seeing our test reports, name our disease- Diabetes, Cholesterol, Ulcerative colitis, Arthiritis etc.
The doctor again prescribes chemical drugs, which is again going to be treated as a toxin by our body. At one point of time, our body looses its intelligence completely. It forgets how to react and sits simply letting the chemicals destroy the whole system. Then slowly every good cell becomes bad and starts to kill its companion. This is called "Auto immune disorder". It is like teaching bad things to a good person and making them a bad human and then blaming them for committing mistakes. If you have watched "Enthiran" Tamil movie(Rajnikanth movie), its like how the Robot "Chiti" becomes bad and creates many bad robots to destroy people. Likewise, good cells, due to several factors like medications, diet, lifestyle and negative thoughts turn bad and starts to destroy its neighboring cells. One of the reasons why allopathy medicine is not able to cure any disease without side-effect is, it uses chemicals to treat a disease. Intelligent immune system will always see chemical drug as "toxin" and tries to push it out of the body.
Now, let see what happens when we consume natural foods or herbs?
  1. Our body easily identifies it like this "Oh! I know this herb. My grandparents used to take it. So its good for me and let me use it". (Most of us don't know what our ancestors ate. We think our current Indian diet is the traditional one. But its not.)
  2. Our body welcomes the herb and helps it to function better. It takes the herb to targeted location.
  3. The herb also enjoys healing you and gets out of the body after finishing its job. Its job is to give intelligence to cells to heal on its own.
  4. Body feels happy for getting a natural food
  5. Eventually the person gets rid of the disease and starts feeling better.
You might ask me, "If body treats chemical drugs as toxins and expels immediately, then how do I feel better after taking a pill, like for example, a Tylenol or Dolo?"
Excellent question and the answer is - There is something called "Placebo effect" which means the person believes that "This medicine is going to cure my headache" and then takes it. After few minutes or hours, the person feels better thinking the medicine has cured him. Its actually not the medicine which relieved the headache. Its the person's belief on the medicine or on the doctor who prescribed the medicine.
But the medicine DO make some changes in the body. When does that happen?  Even though our body tries to throw it out, it cannot do a complete job since all medicines are overdosed (even though the doctors say it is mild) and some part of the medicine stays in the body. This is not a good thing to happen because the medicine is not actually curing your disease. It is only suppressing the symptoms. For example, lets say you have dysentery due to indigestion or whatever reason. Dysentery is the way our immune system throws the undigested material out of the body. But what happens when we try to stop it abruptly by taking a medicine?  Your dysentery will stop, so is the detox process. This will store the toxins in your body and cause even more damage. But the body still tries to tell you "you have toxins and I would like to throw it out" via some other symptoms. If we keep on taking medicines for all the symptoms, the whole body becomes chemically poisoned.
This is the reason why it is always recommended not to go for a chemical drug. You might ask, "In this hectic lifestyle, who has time to make "herbal tea(Kashaayam)" during a headache or cold? We just want a quick relief and that's why we go for these drugs even after knowing its side-effects". Good question. At this moment, I would like to remind you the proverb "Prevention is better than cure". When we keep ourselves fit by choosing good diet and lifestyle, we rarely get sick. Then we don't need medicine at all. Not just that. When we understand our body better, even when we fall sick due to environmental factors, we can be sure that "My immune system will take care of my sickness and I don't have to do anything or may be I can give it some rest or some natural food to heal quickly". For this we must know whether its a real sickness or body's auto-detox process. Then we can treat ourselves much better. I will explain about it in the future article.
There are a lot of new diseases taking birth everyday. We can't take vaccines and drugs for every single disease on earth. We always blame our body for falling sick or not responding to medicines. Now you understand that your body is not the culprit. It is a poor victim. We are the one who spoil our immune system by giving wrong food and poor lifestyle. Our body, after helping us a lot, becomes helpless. Lets try to understand our body better.
There are many things to share about the miracles our body can do, but I felt these are the basics which everyone should know. You now know very well whats happening in your body in the basic level. Its a good start. Listen to your body. Each and every cell is the best teacher which has billion of years of experience in treating itself.
Now you are a certified IKMB (I Know My Body)  :)
Know your body, fix the root cause and be free from all diseases.

P.S - I am not totally against Allopathy. Allopathy treatment is needed for emergency situations like an accident or a sudden heart attack or an emergency cesarean. According to statistics, it's just 2% of the time these situations occur. The rest 98% of the time, its the lifestyle diseases killing the patients. This needs only natural treatment. Even in the case of an accident or an attack, once the person comes out of the emergency situation, its better to go for natural healing rather than being on pills throughout life.
