75% of Avocado's energy comes from fat but none of it contain cholesterol. They contain small amount of protein along with beta-carotene. From Ayurvedic perspective, Avocado is heavy to digest. But with appropriate spices, it is a great food to include in our diet.
Gently cooking will also help to digest Avocado. However, if it is cooked for too long or at too high temperature, it will not only develop a bitter taste but also become less beneficial to the body.
It is better to avoid avocados during cold/fever/indigestion/poor fat metabolism.
Mashed avocado with spices can be had as a side-dish for Idli/Dosai/Roti. Cubed avocado can be added in soups just before serving.
