🌅 Andaman Travel Diaries — Day 1 & 2 (Port Blair Exploration)
Day 1: Exploring Port Blair’s Heritage and Nature
Our Andaman adventure began with a warm check-in to our cozy homestay, followed by a hearty breakfast served by our friendly host. With a rented bike, we set off to discover the island’s charm.
Our first stop was the Samudrika Marine Museum, where we got fascinating insights into the Indian Navy, Army, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands’ rich history and marine life. From there, we rode across the scenic Chatham Bridge, soaking in the coastal views.
Next came the Forest Museum and Chatham Saw Mill, one of Asia’s oldest mills. It was truly exciting to watch how logs are transformed into beautiful wooden art and furniture — a glimpse into the Nicobarian lifestyle and craftsmanship.
We continued along the Chatham Bay area, admiring the calm blue waters before visiting nearby temples like the Baruch Hanuman Temple and Maha Kallu Temple — peaceful spots tucked amidst greenery.
Our afternoon took us to Haddo Forest Club and Nature Park, where we explored the rock garden, butterfly park, aquatic displays, and plant varieties, all with a refreshing sea breeze.
As the evening approached, we reached the historic Cellular Jail, a moving reminder of India’s freedom struggle. Walking through its corridors and reading about the brave prisoners was deeply emotional and inspiring.
We wrapped up the day with a short ride to Corbyn’s Cove Beach, one of the most loved beaches in Port Blair. Despite a few potholes on the way, the ride was pure joy. The sun had already set by the time we arrived, and though clouds hid the stars, the sound of waves and light drizzle made it a peaceful close to Day 1.

After a refreshing night’s rest, we woke up early — around 4:30 AM — to catch the sunrise at Delanipur Viewpoint. Though the sky stayed cloudy, we loved watching the calm Bay of Bengal glow faintly under the early morning light.
Post breakfast, we began our temple trail around Haddo and Lillipur. The day felt divine as we visited:

Each temple had its unique aura — from the tranquil bells to the aroma of incense, it was a soulful morning.
