Info on - good Ayurveda diet

🤔 Oh! Is It?!?! 🤔 I always ask people to soak rice before cooking. At least an hour for hand-pounded rice and 30 minutes for basmati rice. The reason is, rice tend to absorb arsenic more readily than any other food crops. Soaking and cooking the rice on stove-stop (instead of pressure cooker) opens up the grain and allows arsenic and other toxic stuff to escape. White Basmati rice has lower level of arsenic and hence less time for soaking is fine provided the rice is Organic. That does not mean we can safely choose basmati rice all the time. Basmati rice is polished and hence lack in good nutrition but easy to digest. Hence having basmati rice for dinner(some people should avoid even this) or as a rejuvenating food after an illness is good. For lunch, choose the nutritious hand-pounded rice by soaking it well before cooking. After soaking, cook the rice using draining method. Yet another most important step to avoid excess starch and to digest the rice better. Always try to cho...

Stay Beautiful !!!

At the naughty age of 50... We had our school reunion...one of my friend mentioned - look at the girls..they are still looking so beautiful 😍...even today,I skipped a heart beat  looking at my crush ..😀. But the boys are looking so old...many are bald with protruding tummies & shrunken faces ...😔 Made me think...what makes a person beautiful? Is it just looks? Obviously it's nice to look good...it may boost ones confidence & social interactions ...but is it enough? I guess there is a vast difference between 'looking' beautiful  & 'being' beautiful... A lady who has disfigured her body during pregnancy ...now she is struggling with her complexes... ..but yet she is the source of unconditional love for family ...is  beautiful... A bald, obese man who is facing multiple professional challenges...yet he is the source of rock solid support for the family...is a beautiful person... A working lady ...stressing herself out with balancing work ...

Difference between Lemon and Lime

Lemons are sour, heating and has a sour post-digestive effect. This is the main reason why many people who take lemon juice/lemon honey/lemon ginger water get heartburn/acidity symptoms. People suffering from Pitta or Kapha related disorders should avoid lemon as it has the tendency to worsen the condition. But lemon acts as a best medicine in some situations. Equal amount of lemon juice and honey can be licked during nausea or vomiting. A mix of diluted Lemon juice with cilantro juice can be taken for kidney stones. However, if the same person is suffering from any respiratory disorders or acidity, lemon should be avoided and some other remedies should be followed to remove stones. Lemon peel can be added to tooth powder to brighten the teeth. Limes are sour, mildly bitter, cooling and has a sweet post-digestive effect. Lime is acidic only in the taste level. It becomes alkaline  once it reaches the digestive system. However, if taken in excess, it will aggravate Pitta and Kaph...
